character personality
[/size]secrets , Zak broke a guy's arm in a fight once. She never got in trouble for it because the guy was too embarrassed to admit that he had been beaten up by a "gender-confused, cunt-ass midget dyke," in his words. Zak has had three short stories published under the pseudonym Ashleigh Anne Zimerick in the last year.
pet peeves , People bothering her about the fact that her parents gave her a traditionally male name. Do it and you might get your arm broken.
three ways to win zakari's heart ,
1 - Don't be a bitch to her. Ever. Even if you're fighting, don't be a bitch or you're done.
2 - People that say, "But you're too pretty to be a lesbian!" It's not the compliment you think it is, folks. In fact, it's actually not really a compliment at all.
3 - Be able to talk horses with her. It's pretty much the hugest thing that will get her in your pants if you want her there, so long as you're a girl.
likes ,
1 - Horses.
2 - Cats.
3 - Butterflies.
4 - Sparring with her brother.
5 - Sketching random people at the beach or in the park.
dislikes ,
1 - Needles, surprisingly so for the tattoos that she has and has planned.
2 - Spiders, unless they're in the barn.
3 - Dogs.
4 - Texting.
5 - Reality TV.
strengths ,
1 - Writing.
2 - Riding.
3 - Bartending.
weaknesses ,
1 - Overly romanticized thoughts.
2 - Slightly too trusting.
3 - Saying "no" to favors that people need.
personality traits ,
1 - Charismatic: She's insanely friendly. Not only does this come from the fact that she like people, period, but it also stems from the fact that she is a bartender. The friendliest bartenders get the biggest tips and the most return customers. She also has a knack for remembering faces and names which makes her customers like her even more and increases her tips.
2 - Ambitious: Zak doesn't settle for second best. She trains every day to be the best rider in Miami. Even when she's surfing, she'll try to out-do anyone, sometimes to the point of a bit of idiocy.
3 - Trusting: She trusts anyone. This isn't to say that she doesn't have a guard up and doesn't pay attention but rather that she will trust you until given a reason not to.
4 - Polite: Zak is the epitome of polite, until you insult her too much that is. She has some of the best manners around for a modern-day teenager.
5 - Quixotic: This tends to go hand in hand with her trusting nature, especially when girls are involved. She is generally rather romantic in her thoughts about whatever current girlfriend she has in the idea that nothing will ever go wrong and their love is eternal.

in depth history ,
1 - Her father buying a raggedy, old building in downtown Miami. This occurred at age three when her mother accused her father of being insane for wasting such money. His idea was to open a nightclub. He never had any idea that it would become as popular as it currently is. He has made waaaaaay more from Deadliest Sins than he spent on it, proving Mia wrong.
2 - Starting riding. This occurred at age five when she begged her parents for lessons. They thought it was just a passing phase but she's stuck with it to the point of obsession now.
3 - Her parents divorcing. This occurred at age six, two years after Heather was born. This was a rather tumultuous time for Zak and this is probably why she loves riding so much. It was the only thing that she could really count on every Tuesday and Thursday.
4 - Winning her first Champion ribbon at a horse show. This occurred at age seven. She loved the thrill of winning and was instantly even more committed to riding. This was the day that she decided she'd be the best rider in Miami, although the decision wasn't all too conscious. Looking back later, she realized it.
5 - Her brother taking her surfing for the first time. This occurred at age nine. She was nervous and really didn't want to go with him but he made her go to get her mind off of an even rougher patch than the original divorce between their parents and after several trips, she was addicted.
6 - Her father getting re-married to a woman that is 22 years his junior. This occurred at age nine as well. Her mother flipped shit and tried to win full-time custody of the five children instead of the half and half custody that they already had but to no avail. Zak was never too particularly fond of Liliana.
7 - Her first kiss. This occurred at age ten with a boy named Charles and her impression was simply, "Ew, I don't want to do that again. Looking back, she realized this was the probably when she started to question her sexuality.
8 - Her mother getting re-married. This also occurred at age ten, only a few days after her first kiss actually. She was always quite fond of Jordan because he bought her the best riding gear that they could find, even when he and her mother were just dating.
9 - Getting her first horse. This occurred at age 13. The horse's name was Interview by Me and together, Zak and he won 23 Champion ribbons in just six months, increasing and fueling Zak's desire to be the absolute best..
10 - Having her first girlfriend. This occurred at age 14. The girl was named Lucy and she was a year older than Zak. Kissing her felt so right to Zak. She knew then that there was no doubt about the fact that she was gay.
11 - Coming out to her brother. This occurred at 15. He didn't really care and Zak was inspired to tell their parents in the near future due to his reactions.
12 - Coming out to her parents. This occurred at age 15 as well. This didn't go quite as planned. She got her parents to sit down together and listen to her. Her mother cried and it was the first time she heard, "But you're too pretty to be a lesbian!" Then her parents got into a fight blaming each other for their daughter's homosexuality. They have since both accepted it as who their daughter is and as something that's not going to change.
13 - Getting her license. This occurred at age 16. She drove herself to the barn every morning before to school to see her horses and after school every afternoon to work them and other horses in need of exercise at her trainer's for hours to improve them and herself as a rider.
14 - Graduating high school. This occurred at age 18. She was so sick of school and was ecstatic to be done, what teenager isn't?
15 - Getting her bartending license. This also occurred at age 18, after her father promised her a job that would "make bank" for her if she got it. She had return customers after just two weeks.

roleplay sample ,The girl looked around her as she headed into the busy shopping district of the Upper East Side of Manhatten. The day ahead of her was sure to be quite fun. Well, it would be if she was a normal girl that liked shopping. But nothing about Ruby Johnson was normal. She didn’t belong in this city. She veiwed it almost as a living hell. The life she lived was a forced one. Her parents were on the board of all the museums and important institutes in the city and as rich as anyone could possibly be. She could spend as much money on whatever she wanted, could drink as much alcohol as she wanted, have sex as often as she wanted, and use drugs as she pleased as long as she kept her grades up. But the thing was, even with a life of so much luxury, she felt trapped. Everyone expected the elite of Manhatten to be perfect. She would be the first to admit that she was nowhere near perfect. Her life also felt completely planned out and that stressed her. She needed to apply to colleges soon, and getting into all the Ivies is expected and not getting in would be a total disgrace to her family. But she didn’t want to go to college next year. She wasn’t sure that she wanted to go at all, ever. But she knew that not going would never be an option. Instead of finishing her shopping, she found a taxi and directed them to take her to the bridge on and off of Manhatten. She hated her life and wanted nothing to do with it. As the taxi stopped, she paid him and then got prepared to do what she had been thinking about doing for years. She climbed up on the side of the railing and was about to jump over when the words “Don’t jump, Ruby. You’ll make me jump right in after you,” came floating in a familiar voice from behind her. She whirled around quickly, almost too quickly, losing her balance just slightly. She gripped onto the railing tightly. “What are you doing here? Did you follow me?” The voice had come from her brother and her best friend. His hand was extended towards her. She looked at him with a slight bit of contempt in her eyes as he nodded in response to her demand. What did he know? It was her life so why couldn’t she choose when it ended and not have a zillion people trying to stop her. But then she made the mistake of looking into his eyes. She could see the hurt in them from her not telling him what was wrong, could see the love in them from being her brother. Her face changed into a look of recognition with a small mixture of fear. She reached for his hand and got off the railing. As she stepped off she lost her balance, barely escaping the fate she had wanted just minutes ago. She pulled her brother close into a hug. “Thank you,” she whispered. She had thought no one in her family cared what happened to her. She had forgot about her brother. He has been away at college and it had seemed like he had forgotten all about her. Obviously she had been wrong, but she didn’t care about that. She was just glad that he hadn’t forgotten her like the rest of their pathetic and self-absorbed family.
